It has the brown exterior with the tan interior. The 380 sec is a very rare model compared to the 500 sec and the 560 sec. There was only 11,267 of these produced in total from 1981 to 1985. There was only around 1700 of these imported, this is car #780. This car was originally purchased in florida. It was used as the weekend fun car for the several years and was driven in the spring, summer, and fall. It has been regularly serviced and receives synthetic oil. The car runs, drives, and stops well. The brakes were recently done a couple months back. The 3. 8 l v8 has ample power for a car of this age and it surprisingly gets pretty good gas mileage. Everything works on this car except the odometer that stopped working just below 129,000 miles around 200 miles ago and passenger window. We have included a replacement passenger window track and regulator motor with this car. Overall this car is in fair to good shape. The car’s interior look very close to new, the exterior is starting to show its age (fading paint on the roof stone chips on the hood, cracking paint on the back of the trunk lid & drivers side rear, and a little bit of surface rust in the common areas for these w126 models under the drivers light/ finder edge, passenger door handle). This car has never been in an accident. The car comes with a premium set of gold bbs wheels that everyone seems to love (they are a conversation starter). All the body trim is in place. The previous owner put on a 560 sec barge on the rear, although the 560 didn’t get produced until 85’. The front grille and drivers headlight surround was hit by rock that was kicked up on the highway and has a cracked them both. Even though these cars have always been rare, finding parts for them isn’t too hard to find nor expensive. The interior of the car is gorgeous. None of the soft leather seats show any wear at all. The wood is in great condition. The carpet and mats are in good condition, but would look nicer with a good shampooing. The moon roof is huge and it works as intended. It has features and luxurious amenities that many modern vehicles do not have all in all these are all the in’s and out’s of this gorgeous flagship luxury coupe. These engines not only have a bullet-proof reliability, but they also get amazing gas mileage as well! There were only 8,007 turbo diesel coupes made in the period of 1982-1985, and this beauty is one of them!!! This 300cd is production number 972, meaning it was one of the first turbo-diesel coupes that rolled of production line in january of 1982! Bud jones who was a mercedes-benz sales manager purchased this mercedes brand new in february of 1982 and this car remained in his family until this day. This mercedes is very solid and rust free (please see pictures!!!). Body is in wonderful condition and it is straight as an arrow! It has been always garaged, pampered and kept away from rain and bad weather. All factory stickers are still present, including the vpc quality control sticker on the front windshield showing originality of this car. There is not a lot of 300cd coupes out there in this solid and amazingly kept and preserved condition!! Matching michelin tires are in excellent condition with plenty of thread left, and they make this car float on the road. Original bundt wheels are in wonderful condition as well, and they are free of any road or curb rashes! German loop carpet is clean, in wonderful shape, and its rips and tears free. Mb-tex seats are in excellent condition, and very supportive and comfortable. This mercedes comes with air-conditioning, power windows, and power sunroof, and they are all working as they should! Whole interior is original down to becker europa radio, and it still have that authentic mercedes-benz smell! It really does not get any better than this! -engine & transmission legendary 3. 0 liter turbo-diesel engine starts on the first try hot or cold, and with only 196k miles on the odometer (only 6,500 miles per year) it is barely broken in! These engines are known as a million miles engines!! It just received fresh oil change, and set of new diesel filters and this mercedes is ready to be driven anywhere! Automatic transmission shifts smoothly and effortlessly through every gear, and it makes this golden beauty absolute joy to drive and cruise in!
