In the late 1920s and early 1930s, the ford model a was one of the most publicized and best-selling cars in america. It was sporty, attractive, well-built, and smooth-running compared to the model t, which it replaced in the 1928 model year. Thousands of people were eager to see for themselves that "henry's made a lady out of lizzie," and they stormed ford showrooms when the model a debuted on december 2, 1927. In less than two weeks there were 400,000 orders, and henry ford could not keep up with the demand for his latest "gift" to an increasingly mobile nation. Despite the onset of the depression, model a production remained strong at 1,261,053 cars in 1930 but fell to 626,579 cars in 1931, the last year that the model a was produced. The 1929 ford model a coupe 2 door offered for sale here features a rumble seat, luggage rack, dual spare tires with covers and a chrome radiator guard. The body remains all henry ford steel. It is covered in brown with black fenders. The paint shows some wear but is in good condition overall. The black vinyl top remains in good condition as well. This car has been used in parades over the years and enjoyed by several owners in michigan. The model a market remains very solid and this a is good candidate for an addition to any collection. The price for a new one was US$500. The Model A was the first of fords to use standard driver controls, such as a gas, brake, and clutch pedal. It was also the first to use safety glass for the windshield. By the end of its production, 4,849,340 were made. The A was powered by a 201 c. engine producing 40 hp and reaching a top speed of 65 mph. The transmission was a standard three speed. The'A' offered here is a very solid, Henry Ford Steel, entry level model A. Runs and shifts well. This is the perfect car for parades, advertising and family fun. The upholstry is in good condition as well. She's 88 years old this year and looks great for her age. The car rides on 21 inch yellow wire wheels. It also has a rear mounted spare with a tire cover.

This is a very nice straight old car. It runs and drives and stops as it should. It has been converted to electronic ignition, and an alternator,but it is still a 6 volt positive ground system. The headlights are currently not working, i suspect the swith but just havent had time to chase it down. Oogah horn is new and works perfectly. Period correct flat head 4 cylinder (might be original but dont know) still has fuel mixture knob on dash, timing and idle controls on steering wheel. Paint is a 6/10 maybe even 5/10 it shows nice from 10 feet but will need a paint job to be really nice. Interior is a 7-8/10 and was partially redone in the last few years. There is no serious rust. Tires and wheels in very good condition. This was a nice original old car that someone started to restore and did not finish. Price is firm but trades will be considered.

Here is a very rare model a 3 door delivery truck, all original but for 2 upgrades, 12 volt system and the seats were mover back to fit a taller person, has been in the same family since 1930,, restored in the late 80's, has only 19891 miles on it, this has the 4 cyl. Engine and the original 3 speed transmission, this is a rare 3 door i have only seen one other, no rust. Very nice show truck.
