it is a late 1972 (Oct) productionmaking it an actual 1973. Very nice original 1973 Datsun 240z Ready forrestoration or daily driver with a little tuning. I acquired this z about 5years ago from the central California valley. It had been sitting for 6 years. After sitting in my garage for the past 5 years I finally started tinkering withit. New gas, changed the oil, adjusted valves, new starter, ignition switch,clutch master and slave cylinder. Started right up drove it around the block,transmission seemed fine as are brakes but it will need some carburetor work andfine tuning to be road worthy, and new tires etc. They hold air but are 10 years old. Compression check ranged from 150 to 160 on all cylinders It is anumbers matching engine. It has had a white repaint at some time and it is anoriginal white car. Upholstery is clean but not original. All body panels andglass appear to be original and firewall vin matches strut tower and dash vinand as far as I can tell it has never been in an accident and no bondo present. Things that need attention are; Carbs, they appear to be the original smogequipped flat top hitachis which I heard are pretty hard to tune properly so Ihaven't attempted yet. Headlights don't work (not sure why, fuses areok) Rust in rear quarter panels in front of rear wheels and rear hatch panel ( iwill include new patch panels as in pictures) Also a little surface rust and alittle rust in floorboards and A pillars as shown in pics. Original interior was red now black. The paint is the original paint. The headliner, which is red, is currently not in the vehicle. New carburetors were put in last year. Car runs and starts great. Always stored in shed. There is some rust on trunk but nothing too serious. The bottom part of the door looks to have had rust and previous owner tried to cover it up. Dp9motors. This is an amazingly nice, rust free low mile 240z in fantastic condition all around with super rare options!! This original west coast car came from a private high end collection and has been loved and maintained and it shows!! Z car is unmolested with the exception of minor tasteful enhancements. This is a collector quality car!! It retains its unmodified matching numbers drivetrain, perfect uncracked dash with dealer option ac and rare websastos sliding sunroof... Webastos sunroof is a very rare and highly collectable option... It looks and works perfectly! Nice modern sound system is currently not coming on... Original l24 motor starts idles and runs fantastic... Carbs tuned perfectly! The car has great power... 4-speed trans shifts smooth and strong through the gears!! Suspension feels tight and provides excellent ride and upgraded 4 wheel disk brakes stop straight and sure. Strong, powerful, and reliable... Freshly serviced and tuned... Definite daily driver capable. Overall this is a really cool and rare classic z in superb condition all around. Great for any enthusiast, collector, or anyone looking for a cool and unique vintage sports car at a great price. The car is located in beverly hills california...
