This is a 1980 monte carlo landau edition it has a rare 3. 8 l v-6 turbo engine. I am asking 1500. 00 o. O i bought this car from my brothers family. It was driven and owned by his grandmother in law so it was not driven very hard and not very much as its 33 yrs old and only has 80,000 miles... It has been sitting for a few yrs, i have done some very minor work on it to get it running such as a new batt and very minor corroborator adjustment. The car started rite up and runs pretty good for sitting so long. Does need a good tune up . My mechanic looked at it and said with a tune up it would be a very solid car he was very surprised when he seen that the car was complete and it was all original inside and out. The car and even was upgraded with air conditioning . It does need a good cleaning due to the amount of time it has been sitting and a tune up... My research tells me that out of over 160,000 mote carlos made between 1980 and 1981 there were only approx 15,000 made with the buick turbo engine and even les that were the landau version,, this is the same engine they eventually put in the grand nationals.. I have researched these cars to get a feel for what they are selling for and in crappy shape they are around 2500.. 00 and as much at 7,000 dollars for great condition my plan was to keep the car as a minor project car and possibly sell for a lot more but due to having a grand child on the way i need to sell to prepare. This car has way more into it then i can get out of it. It has chevy 350 running on 11:1 compression complimented with a th350 transmission done by schmidt transmission out of dickinson, both with about 1500 miles on them. Also has a ford 9 inch rear end, two new rear tires with less than 100 miles, traction bars that i havent put on yet, new plugs and wires, and many more mods within the engine that i dont 100% know of because this was all done before i bought it. Was built for racing before i bought it and i have did nothing but just drive it since ive had it. This car has some get up and go and has all the potential to be a fun driver or drag car. There are a few minor cons. The headliner is falling, the trunk latch is broke but can be opened with a screwdriver, there is a dent in the left rear quarter panel from before i got it. Should be able to be popped , i just havent messed with it. And ill be honest, it still needs some fine tuning. It has a holley 8105b carburetor and it just needs a little tlc and it does have a minor oil leak. It does run and drive fine but i know the right guy could get more power out of it. In the end, i just am looking to sell this car to someone who has the knowledge of this kind of set up and is going to spend more time with it than i do. Other than that, just cash.
