1984 633csi , hard to find 5 speed manual transmission. Nice color combination black on red leather. The paint is in great shape and condition,we believe at some point it has been re sprayed . No dings are visible on this vehicle. There is more than 50% tread life left on the tires, and it does have upgraded wheels. Interior condition is average for this vehicle, interior seats are original, the only flaw is a few cracks on the dash board. The exterior is clean and in good condition . The engine is functioning properly and has no issues. The transmission shifts very smoothly. The vehicle runs and drives smooth. We added a little personal touch by putting a french license plate. *applicable fees are, $169. 27 illinois documentation fee, $15. 00 for thirty-day drive away permit fee for out of state customer’s,$199. 00 for motorcycles, illinois customer’s will pay $95. 00 title fee and $101. 00 for illinois plates, sales tax (for illinois residents and residents of tax reciprocal states with the state of illinois).

This is one of those nicely spec’d, stunningly well-preserved examples that us bmw enthusiasts dream about. Immediately upon picking the car up from the original owner, we took it for a 100 mile stretch-of-the-legs along the lake michigan waterfront. The car feels absolutely phenomenal in every respect; as it should, considering that the car was treated to a complete mechanical rebuild (to the tune of $30k!) by renown bmw specialist the werk shop (libertyville, il) just 500 miles prior. What we know: the original and only owner of the car ordered it new while living in california in the early 1980s. The car was purchased from autohaus brüning kg fürth (dealer in germany); after importing the car, the owner drove it for a handful of years, racking up about 54,000 miles. He then moved to chicago around 1990 and stored the car at a climate-controlled automotive storage facility, where the car was almost never driven. There it remained until 2014, when the owner received a call and was informed that the facility was closing up shop, and that he needed to come get his car. Instead of driving the car home, he had the car sent to the werk shop, a well-respected bmw restoration shop just north of chicago. There he had the car gone through in its entirety. The total cost for the mechanical restoration - $30k; please see the photo of the receipt, a 5-page-long list of parts. The rebuild was done at 54,899 miles; we bought the car shortly after, and the odometer now reads 55,502. The restoration was strictly mechanical; the werk shop did not do any exterior work. Exterior: the car retains its original bronzitbeige metallic (139) paint, which presents very, very well. Though, the nose panel was resprayed early on in the car’s life. Bronzitbeige metallic is a gorgeous color and shines bright; the light copper contrasts very well with the car’s black pinstriping. There are absolutely no dings, dents, or scuffs on the car. Most noteworthy of the blemishes is a small blister on the hood (less than half an inch in size). All plastic trim is in great shape, with no cracking or graying. Chrome is in great shape as well, there is no oxidation in the slightest. Chrome is mirror-like and has a great shine to it. Lights, emblems, and glass are all clear and crack-free. Bmw bottlecap wheels have never been refinished and are in nice shape, with no curb damage. Overall, this 635csi is as nicely-presented as we’ve seen. Even at its lowest, most vulnerable points, this car presents in impressive condition. In person, it’s nothing short of stunning. Interior: this 635csi features the very desirable and hard-to-come-by nutria leather interior, with sport seats to boot. When bmw switched over to the e24 platform many of these same people had the same to say with one exception, more driver friendly for all. Rolling off the assembly line in february of 1984 and then being delivered to the bmw store of cincinnati, oh where it was sold and serviced for the next 23 years and remaining in the sole custody of the physician that purchased it new. Car was routinely serviced and maintained and remained in factory stock setup. Only upgrade that is noticeable is the hard wired passport radar detector that is still active and comes with the original book and accessories. The trim pieces are all intact and show zero sun damage. The chrome remains clean and bright and the car looks aggressive as it stands still. Interior of the vehicle is clean and free from damage. The dash remains crack free and the console is in remarkable condition. The leather seats are free from cracks and wear marks or fading and they remain supple and supportive. The car has many options when new and many that were way ahead of the times. Full power seats work for both driver and passenger seats and the sunroof opens and closes properly. Even the power headrests function correctly with a simple push of the button. Air conditioning blows cold and fan speeds are working properly. Radio works and all lights are functioning as they should. Vehicle received a new battery and tune up recently and michelin tires appear to be brand new and sit nicely on the factory 14in wheels. The engine bay is clean and still has the factory insulation that usually deteriorates over time. It is very apparent that this car was cared for with care and enjoyed a garage spot and only driven when the perfect opportunity presented itself. Previous owner was part of the bmw cca and grill badge is still in place. Vehicle comes with two keys, factory owner’s manual, bmw glovebox flashlight, factory tools in trunk, spare and heavy duty berber floor mats. Many agree that the shark body cars will see dramatic increases over the next few years and with the extremely low production numbers there are not a lot of well cared for ones in existence. Factory look, outstanding condition and low miles are what all smart shoppers are looking for – this is the one that will pay significant dividends down the road.
