Seller's comments and description: garage find 1957 austin healey 100-6 bn4in storage 50 yearsjust finished $7k service!!!!! It is an early big healey that has not yet been restored but is not a total basketcase pulled out of a field. This is a complete car, unrestored and not full of terminal rust. It waspainted once in the early 60’s. It appears the color was changed from black with red coves to the currentorange/white color combination (why would someone change to those colors??). The current owner bought the car in1964. It started out in arizona, was purchased by thecurrent owner’s brother in the early 60’s and then she bought it in 1964 from him. It was driven very sparinglyfor a couple years until parked in a garage in 1966. It sat there until a few months ago when it was brought tolayland motors to get road-worthy in order to sell it. There is some bondo on the rocker panel on the left side and also some on the left hand front fender, but for the most part the body is unmolested. Somewhere along the line the front brakes have been converted to the later Austin Healey 3000 disc brakes. It still has it’s original floors, sills and outriggers and all are in good condition

The austin-healey 100-6 roadster was powered by a 2. 6-liter austin engine with 102 horsepower. The car had new, longer body, which allowed two children's seats to be fitted in the rear of the cockpit. Donald healey drove a prototype version of this car over 200 mph at bonneville salt flats in august of 1956. It may very well be the best value among the big healey's. Up for auction is legendary 1958 austin healey 100-6 bn4. This austin healey features rare and optional electric overdrive transmission, as well as the optional wire knock-off wheels! Total of 10,826 100-6's were produced from august, 1956 to march, 1959, and this beauty is one of them!! This healey is all complete, and it makes a great candidate for a restoration! It had same owner since 1974 and it was parked in the early 90’s with intention of having full restoration done. At that time some body work was done to the car, then the whole project stalled due to its owner’s health issues, and the this healey hasn’t been touched since. This is a real 100-6 not a replica! A complete restoration was done on this car and was completed in 2010. Nasty boyã¢?â is an austin healey that has had an american v8 transplanted into the engine compartment. Putting a v8 in this healey was just the beginning. The v8 in this case is a 350 ci chevy with roller rockers and edelbrock intake with a holley carburetor. Power transfers through a 700r4 automatic to a ford 9ã¢?â rear with 3:92 gears. The custom dual exhaust makes it sound great. The car features 4-wheel disc brakes with baer equipment in the rear and completely rebuilt factory set up on the front. Master cylinder is a wilwood unit. The convertible top is also brand new. The exterior has been painted in toreador red. The wheels are 15ã¢?â daytona wires with stainless spokes and radial tires.
