Oh, and then check out the price and decide again if perhaps this isn't just about the coolest ragtop for the money anywhere. Black-on-red is a fantastic combination and it sure looks like that's this rambler's original combination. The black paint is probably factory-applied, so it's showing some patina, but it's dignified, not beat-up, and someone has obviously taken great care of this car over the past 50 years. Let the other guys do that. We can guarantee that it'll attract a lot of attention everywhere it goes simply because nobody has seen one before and there's enough chrome and stainless trim to make it look like it should be a lot more expensive. It's got a very cool, almost gothic look that works rather well. The red interior is sharply dressed, with handsome striped bench seats and matching door panels. Like the exterior, the interior appears to be mostly original and we definitely like the look. The steering wheel has a cool horn ring and decorative trim and shows only minor signs of age, and the dashboard has enough bright trim to make the interior look upscale, not cheap. The red carpets have likely been replaced, simply because they're too nice to be old, but things like the dash pad and door panels don't seem to have suffered under the hot sun. There's also a gigantic trunk with a proper mat that's ready for a road trip. There's a holley 4-barrel carburetor up top, so throttle response is crisp and there's plenty of torque at just about any speed. It has obviously been recently detailed with corporate red engine enamel on the engine, along with a big air cleaner up top with a proper reproduction decal on it. New ignition components help it run properly and there's a big radiator up front.
