Dark blue over black interior, the paint and body show to a driver standard with a few minor flaws here and there. Glass, bumpers and trim are in good condition as are headlight covers. Nice canvas convertible top shows well. Later campagnolo wheels are in good condition and wearing older but serviceable rubber. A good topside car with some patches in the floors and evidence of previous front subframe repair. Interior shows well with good seat upholstery, door panels, carpet, original steering wheel, crack-free dash and clear (and working) gauges. Newer am/fm/cd stereo in dash. Under the hood is a 2000 cc twin-cam running spica fuel injection. Gearbox feels good and is smooth without the typical second gear synchro issues (see video). The twin cam revs freely with a fruity exhaust note -- this alfa is a joy to drive and still feels very "put together" and composed nearly 50 years since manufacture. AM/FM

It was the successor to the alfa romeo 2000. It has become historically significant as the last alfa romeo to have been fitted with an inline six-cylinder engine with twin overhead camshafts. A convertible based on the sprint coupe was shown by bertone in 1963. It was also named 2600 sprint, but did not enter production. The limited edition 2600 sz (sprint zagato) with fastback coupe bodywork by zagato, and the very limited-edition 2600 de luxe with five-window sedan bodywork by osi (officine stampaggi industriali) were introduced three years later in 1965 at the frankfurt motor show. From a sales point of view, the 2600 models were not a success, despite deserved acclaim for their excellent engine. The 2600 osi de luxe has always been extremely rare but there are no signs of it having become particularly desirable as a collector's item. Restored some years ago by hyannis restoration, then used sparingly, it has benefitted from a recent cosmetic freshening. This has included a re-spray in the original color, and the brightwork is in excellent condition. Inside, the dark blue leather interior shows almost no wear, with nicely broken-in seats and a period becker radio in the dashboard. A recent correct canvas soft top has been installed. Mechanically this 2600 spider has been given an upgrade from the stock solex carburetors (in box in trunk) to preferable weber units. In addition, the alfa has received a recent stainless steel exhaust system, brake work, a thorough electrical check and a complete tune-up service. In short this very rare and desirable alfa needs nothing to be enjoyed immediately, can be pressed into immediate service and is a sure bet for increased appreciation as one of the last true coachbuilt 6 cylinder alfa's made.

The italians entered the small roadster market importing many to the united states after the popularity gained by dustin hoffman's ride in the graduate. In 1970 the first significant change to the exterior styling was introduced on the 1750 spider veloce, with the original's distinctive elongated round tail changed to a more conventional cut-off tail, called the "kamm tail", as well as improving the luggage space. Numerous other small changes took place both inside and out, such as a slightly different grille, new door handles, a more raked windscreen, top-hinged pedals and improved interior trim. 1971 saw the spider veloce get a new, larger powerplant—a 1962 cc, 132 hp (98 kw) unit—and consequently the name was changed from 1750 spider veloce to 2000 spider veloce. This ’75 2000 spider veloce is in excellent condition inside and out coming out of a private collection in wisconsin. The previous owner had the car maintained, stored, and selectively restored in orange county, california.
